Associate Director, Quality Assurance (Food Safety)

Location: Maxton, North Carolina, United States; onsite at the Maxton plant

Salary: $155,700–$214,100 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead the Quality function and laboratories at the Maxton plant, including quality planning, resource alignment, and priority execution.
• Maintain and continuously improve site quality programs to meet North American, USDA, FDA, and regulatory requirements.
• Direct SQF, HACCP, FSMA, recipe management, auditing, product release, and product-withheld programs.
• Troubleshoot quality issues across ingredient, packaging, material, supply chain, and finished-product processes.
• Drive consumer complaint reduction, process improvement, and quality initiatives with Manufacturing, Product Development, Engineering, R&D, and plant teams.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide quality strategy, policy alignment, standardization, and innovation risk assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of plant or systems experience with demonstrated leadership achievements.
• Experience with food safety, regulatory, and quality systems in food processing.
• Knowledge of sanitation, GMP practices, pest control programs, food processing, and industry-standard quality procedures.
• Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
• Knowledge of quality standards, audit practices, statistical process control, and process capability studies.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of plant or systems experience with demonstrated leadership achievements.
• Familiarity with Optiva, SAP, and RMS formula and information management systems.
