Plant QA Manager (Food Safety)

Location: Johnstown, New York, United States; onsite at the plant

Salary: $107,514.38–$153,208.01 per year; 15% annual bonus target

What you will do

• Lead food safety, packaging quality, and product quality activities at the plant.
• Coordinate company quality initiatives, corporate quality activities, and third-party audits.
• Analyze quality and customer complaint data, lead root-cause investigations, and develop performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with quality checks, testing, sampling, sanitation, GMP, prerequisite, and regulatory programs.
• Coordinate the facility Food Safety, HACCP, and SQF programs, including microbiological analysis and water-testing equipment calibration.
• Manage QA supplies, budgets, inventory, and the performance, coaching, and development of plant QA staff.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in the field or a similar manufacturing environment and 6 years of experience in the position.
• At least 4 years of experience managing people or projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of water chemistry, microbiological and chemical analysis methods, laboratory systems, and beverage sanitation practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, Oracle Business Systems, Infinity QS, and statistical software.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; HACCP certification is preferred.

• 10 or more years of experience in the position.

• Master’s degree in a related field.
