District Planning Senior Specialist (Electrical Distribution)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Wildomar Service Center; employees are required to work and reside in California. Up to 50% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory may be required.

Salary: $111,600–$167,400 per year

What you will do

• Conduct long-term grid import planning, transmission interconnection assessments, power flow studies, and economic analyses.
• Develop distribution system plans, construction designs, resource requirements, cost estimates, and service options.
• Manage large design projects from inception through construction completion, including scope, schedules, budgets, policies, rates, and compliance.
• Assess regional distribution capabilities, reliability performance, planning criteria, and outage trends.
• Perform field inspections, verify project compliance with approved plans, and review maps and quality controls.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, agencies, and other stakeholders while providing training and workload support.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in electrical utility distribution, transmission, telecommunications design or construction, or an engineering discipline.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to apply engineering principles, construction standards, and industry practices.
• Experience with construction methods, work scope, service methods, work orders, construction plans, or project packages.
• Proficiency with GIS, drafting or design systems, wind or pole loading applications, or related tools such as SPIDA Calc, Autodesk AUD, cGIS, or SAP.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from California and travel or work in the field for up to 50% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multiple technical or customer projects under shifting priorities.
• Leadership, team lead, training, mentorship, customer service resolution, or quality control experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication and Microsoft Office proficiency.
