Supervisor, Substation Engineering Services (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Fresno, California; hybrid work from a remote office and the assigned location two days a week

Salary: $137,000–$232,000 annually, with a California midpoint of $184,000

What you will do

• Supervise and lead a team of 15–18 project engineers, design engineers, design drafters, and engineering assistants.
• Oversee transmission and distribution substation engineering and design work delivered across all regions.
• Coordinate engineering plans, scope, schedules, costs, and project milestones with Project Management and Substation Construction.
• Track safety, design quality, financial performance, work-plan achievement, and schedule performance metrics.
• Make decisions about internal work and contracted engineering, remove project-support obstacles, and maintain production schedules.
• Coach and develop staff while promoting accountability, teamwork, innovation, and adoption of new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
• At least five years of engineering experience, including experience in electric substation and transmission line engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of transmission or substation engineering, design, and construction.
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Clarity, MS Project, or Primavera P6.

Nice to have

• Two years of leadership experience in supervision or a lead role.
• Registered Electrical P.E. license.
• Familiarity with PG&E standards and design processes.
• Familiarity with ESC and Local 20 labor contract requirements.
