VMS Software Engineer (Embedded C++)

Base pay range: $142,800–$220,600 per year

What you will do

• Develop efficient, robust Modern C++ software for Embedded Linux platforms.
• Write hardware drivers and manage communications through CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and UART interfaces.
• Bring up boards and troubleshoot hardware integration, signal integrity, and protocol issues.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and network sniffers for deep-dive debugging.
• Design safety-focused software with deterministic behavior and defensive handling of edge cases.
• Work in an Agile sprint framework with short planning and development cycles.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Modern C++ and fluency in Python and Bash.
• Solid understanding of Embedded Linux, including kernel and user-space interactions.
• Experience with real-time constraints and resource-constrained hardware.
• Hands-on experience with hardware integration, board bring-up, and debugging tools.
• Work location: San Jose, California, United States.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Yocto, GTest, CMake, or Ansible.
