Software Quality Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote; listed locations include Cairo, Egypt, and Istanbul, Turks and Caicos Islands. The role includes up to 25 days per year working from anywhere in the world.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and develop a team of Software Development Engineers in Test.
• Support multiple Scrum teams with testing estimation, planning, and strategy for web and mobile applications.
• Own release management, test coverage, defect reporting, and quality metrics across products.
• Build and scale automated UI and API testing frameworks and promote quality practices across engineering.
• Define QA practices for AI-native features, including validation of LLM outputs and testing of agentic workflows.
• Lead process improvements, tool evaluations, and special engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant development or testing experience, including 7+ years testing and automating large-scale customer-facing systems.
• 3+ years managing SDETs through the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of QE automation architecture, methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Hands-on experience creating frontend and backend automation frameworks using tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, Rest Assured, TestNG, or SOAPUI.
• Proficiency in Java or Python, with familiarity with databases, SQL, scripting, REST services, Agile delivery, and distributed teams.
• Advanced AI proficiency at minimum level L5 is required, including testing AI and agent-based features, hallucination detection, grounding, guardrails, fallback behavior, and prompt-injection resistance. Experience with Claude is required.

• Experience improving test coverage, reducing customer-impacting defects, and making risk-based release decisions.
