R&D Engineer Mechanical (Hardware)

Annual base salary: USD 143,800–230,000

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver mechanical assemblies, including complete chassis for ultra-high-performance and power electronic products.
• Own mechanical design activities including BOM creation, product appearance, development, validation, and design for manufacturing.
• Support product development from inception through volume production and continue ownership through customer trials, field issues, and product sustaining.
• Collaborate with Hardware, ASIC, Signal, Mechanical, Thermal, Diagnostic, Packaging, Manufacturing, and partner engineering teams.
• Work with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability groups.
• Provide technical leadership or mentoring to a small design team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12+ years of experience.
• Experience designing high-powered production enclosures capable of cooling 2kW/RU or more.
• Experience with power and thermal issues related to PCBs with 1kW+ footprints.
• Collaboration with production shops and manufacturing teams to improve production processes, quality control, and design transitions.
• Understanding of relevant US, European, and Asian regulations and standards for safety and environmental compliance.
• Experience owning complex products across the full lifecycle and working in cross-functional teams.
