Salary: $117,800–$200,300 annually

What you will do

  • Lead the complete mechanical design process from requirements and concepts through detailed design, testing, BOM structure, scheduling, and manufacturing handoff.
  • Design mechanical parts and subsystems for next-generation wafer inspection tools using Creo Parametric and 3D CAD modeling.
  • Perform thermal, vibration, structural FEA, and CFD analyses, and evaluate design feasibility.
  • Create detailed drawings, apply GD&T and welding symbols, and prepare design review presentations.
  • Procure prototype parts, support system integration and prototype testing, and resolve issues at prototype and integrated-system levels.
  • Collaborate with systems and manufacturing engineers while developing assembly and test procedures.

Requirements

  • Doctorate with 0 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics, structural analysis, engineering materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with 3D solid/CAD modeling, preferably Creo Parametric.
  • Experience with structural FEA software, preferably Pro/Mechanical or ANSYS Mechanical, and CFD software such as ANSYS Icepak, Fluent, CFX, or similar.
  • Experience creating and interpreting detailed drawings, ASME Y14.5 GD&T, and AWS A2.4 welding symbols.
  • Strong organization, communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
