What you will do

• Lead and design complex opto-mechanical solutions for optical subsystems.
• Design precision components and assemblies with tight tolerances, including sub-micron alignment and long-term stability.
• Perform mechanical analyses and optimize assemblies across operating and environmental temperature ranges.
• Define interfaces between optical, mechanical, and electrical subsystems, and lead prototype and production integration.
• Develop alignment procedures, optical bench setups, calibration workflows, engineering tests, and technical reports.
• Drive design for manufacturability and high-volume manufacturing, supplier development, product specifications, and cross-functional technical communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 7–10 years of engineering experience.
• Subject-matter expertise with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis, and/or Design for Excellence principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems with limited to no supervision.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
