Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Diesel and Hydraulic Systems)

Location: Onsite at the Trinity Terminal in Trinity, Alabama, near Decatur, Madison, and Huntsville. The role requires assigned day or evening shifts, weekends, overtime, and onsite call-outs.

Salary: $28.56 per hour at entry level. Progression is available based on skills and experience. Eligible for a sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment used in bulk-material handling.
• Repair diesel and gas engines, electric motors, generators, hydraulic and pneumatic attachments, control systems, fuel systems, and brake systems.
• Diagnose and repair cranes, loaders, dozers, and related terminal equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspect guards, bolts, safety devices, and other equipment components.
• Use welders, cutting torches, forklifts, hand tools, power tools, and electrical meters while working from blueprints, sketches, or instructions.
• Promote safety and environmental programs and follow company and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience; heavy equipment experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and hydraulic systems.
• Valid driver’s license and basic mechanic hand tools.
• Ability to work cooperatively, follow supervision, use a company radio, complete required safety training, and communicate with customers and coworkers.
• Must pass a background check, post-offer and random drug screens, and meet physical and medical requirements for the role.

Nice to have

• Diploma or certificate from an accredited trade or vocational school in automotive, diesel, or truck mechanic training.
