Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States. Full-time onsite role with day and night shift options and minimal travel.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical systems, and hydraulic components on large construction equipment.
• Perform equipment repairs and maintenance in a field environment.
• Use laptop-based diagnostic information and safely assemble and disassemble components.
• Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead cranes.
• Complete service reports and document work performed.
• Participate in company training programs and support other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Five or more years of relevant experience preferred.
• Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or a related field preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and equipment electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulics and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment; crane knowledge is a plus.
