Mechanical Engineer (Generator Design)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and optimize large electric generators for service and new apparatus products.
• Perform engineering optimization studies and complex analytical studies of generator components using ANSYS or similar tools.
• Create CAD models, technical drawings, bills of materials, and product definition for generator rotors, stators, exciters, and collectors.
• Prepare and execute design reviews and release engineering information for manufacturing and service repair.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting, technical advice, process reviews, product deviation disposition, and design improvements.
• Resolve product issues, conduct root cause analyses, and communicate technical requirements to customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Experience in the design, analysis, or maintenance of rotating machinery; power generation experience is preferred.
• Experience with CAD, GD&T, and CAE fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Nice to have

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of SAP, Teamcenter, and NX modeling software.
• Additional experience may qualify candidates for a higher level.
