Mechanical Engineering Co-Op (June - December 2027)

Location: Solon, Ohio, United States; full-time onsite co-op for 8 months. Candidates must provide their own transportation to and from work and be authorized to work in the United States without restrictions now or in the future.

Salary: $25.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Rotate through applications engineering, new product development, manufacturing engineering, and labs and product approvals.
• Perform engineering calculations, develop product designs, create 2D and 3D models, and maintain technical documentation.
• Support product concept development, fabrication, validation testing, test plans, test fixtures, and compliance with codes and industry standards.
• Improve manufacturing processes through tooling design, time studies, capital equipment and maintenance improvements, and quality documentation.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices, including Kaizen events, Gemba walks, 5S, TPM, and setup-reduction projects.
• Participate in design reviews, site and supplier visits, customer interactions, and cross-functional engineering projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate engineering degree; mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology is preferred.
• Enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available for a full-time, 8-month co-op in Solon, Ohio.
• Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions now or in the future.
• Analytical, creative, hands-on problem-solving skills with the initiative to drive projects to completion.

Nice to have

• Experience with ABAQUS, Matlab, 2D or 3D modeling, prototyping equipment, CNC, or laser cutters.
• Interest in product engineering, manufacturing, testing, compliance, or applications engineering.
