Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op

Location: Chaska, Minnesota, United States. Full-time on-site co-op assignment from January through June, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Compensation: $20-$30 per hour, depending on overall qualifications.

What you will do

• Support products and train production and maintenance personnel.
• Evaluate existing processes and implement process improvements and automation techniques to improve product flow, part quality, first-pass yield, cost, and lead time.
• Create and revise part instructions and routings, and train personnel on process and equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Work with production personnel to improve on-time shipping, eliminate quality issues, increase bottleneck capacity, and provide production support.
• Participate in 8D problem-solving teams, including failure analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead projects, maintain development plans and schedules, and ensure stakeholder requirements and corrective-action timelines are met.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university co-op program and familiar with the university’s co-op participation requirements.
• Available to work 40 hours per week from January through June.
• Expected graduation in December 2026 or later.
• Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering major preferred.
• Knowledge of statistical tools, Lean and Six Sigma, DOE, statistical process control, process capability studies, FMEA, process audits, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
• Skills with SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.
