Process Engineer II (E2) (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Design and optimize manufacturing processes for semiconductor, display, and advanced packaging technologies.
• Set up and demonstrate automated wet processes, including tool preparation, wafer processing, measurements, chemical analysis, and documentation.
• Set up and optimize high-volume manufacturing wet-process equipment.
• Lead chemical-analysis tool setup and chemical testing, including electrochemical testing to investigate process results.
• Perform failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and reliability testing.
• Collaborate with R&D teams, customers, vendors, and suppliers to resolve engineering issues and implement new technologies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to make process, chemistry, materials, and tool decisions based on product requirements.
• Knowledge of process control and statistical process control methodologies.
• Ability to independently drive projects and deliver products.
• Availability for approximately 10% travel.
• Role location: Santa Clara, California, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with plating processes and chemical analysis in development or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in semiconductor processing, advanced packaging, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with metrology equipment, failure-analysis systems, reliability tools, and chemical-analysis tools.
• Proficiency with thin-film characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, and SIMS.
