Spacecraft Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, United States; on-site. U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $108,000–$187,000 annual base salary, plus commission opportunities.

What you will do

• Ensure spacecraft hardware components meet quality standards through testing, inspection, validation, and adherence to defined processes.
• Develop and execute QMS manuals, processes, inspection instructions, forms, test plans, and quality reports.
• Partner with design, manufacturing, testing, supply chain, and leadership teams to identify and mitigate quality issues throughout the hardware lifecycle.
• Develop quality metrics, Pareto charts, and tracking methods to support performance management and continuous improvement.
• Assess supplier performance, audits, rework, repair, downtime, and supply-chain risks.
• Lead CAPA and RCCA initiatives using 8D, DMAIC, and other quality-engineering tools.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status required for access to export-controlled data.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in supplier development, quality assurance, or supply chain management.
• Experience with supplier evaluation, audits, and performance management.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, statistical process control, data analysis, problem-solving, and project management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Nice to have

• ASQ CQE or CSQP certification.
• Working knowledge of Lean methodology.
