Senior Supplier Development Engineer (Avionics)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States

Base salary: $130,000–$165,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Define and implement supplier development strategies for avionics suppliers.
• Assess supplier capabilities, technologies, and manufacturing readiness.
• Manage PPAP, production-rate, and reliability campaigns to enable production.
• Lead containment activities, issue resolution, and supplier corrective actions.
• Evaluate supplier quality through scorecards and audits, driving compliance and improvement.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement on production roadmaps, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in quality, reliability, supply chain, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, PPAP, and related quality tools.
• Experience managing vendors, suppliers, and strategic technical partners.
• Ability to travel 25–50% of the time.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Expert knowledge of avionics commodities such as harnesses and PCBs/PCBAs.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts and new product introduction environments.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Experience with data analytics and SQL.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
