Senior Supplier Development Engineer (Avionics)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States. The role requires travel up to 25–50% of the time. Access to ITAR-controlled information requires U.S. person status or eligibility for a federally issued export control license.

Base salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Define and implement supplier development strategies for avionics commodities.
• Assess supplier capabilities, technologies, and ability to meet manufacturing requirements.
• Manage Production Part Approval Process, rate, and reliability campaigns to enable production.
• Lead containment actions, issue resolution, and supplier corrective action efforts.
• Evaluate supplier quality through scorecards and audits, driving improvement and compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams on production roadmaps, quality, delivery, and cost.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in quality, reliability, supply chain, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, and PPAP.
• Experience managing vendors, suppliers, and strategic technical partners.
• Ability to travel 25–50% of the time.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Expertise in avionics commodities such as harnesses, PCBs, and PCBAs.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts and new product introduction environments.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with data analytics and SQL.
