Sr. Service Controls Technician (HVAC)

Location: Brea, California, United States. The role involves customer-site service, office collaboration, occasional overnight stays, overtime, and weekend work.

Hourly base pay: $25.18–$75.54.

What you will do

• Commission, program, configure graphics and communications links, test, troubleshoot, and service assigned HVAC controls projects.
• Document point-to-point verification, sequence-of-operations validation, and job closeout requirements.
• Serve as the direct customer contact while diagnosing and repairing equipment and control systems at customer locations.
• Coordinate with team leaders and customers on installation and repair requirements, building layouts, materials, and on-site work.
• Maintain current knowledge of Trane products and direct digital control system installation, operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Enforce safety standards and maintain accountability for company-issued equipment and assets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or completion certificate from an accredited technical school.
• Typically at least 7 years of HVAC or controls experience for this senior-level role.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, wear required protective equipment, climb ladders, access rooftops, work in confined areas, and lift or move equipment.
• Ability to work around variable weather, moving mechanical parts, heights, electrical shock risks, noise, and other environmental hazards.

Nice to have

• Technical school education or formal training.
• Previous experience with direct digital control systems.
