Backend Java Developer

Location: Hybrid position requiring on-site work at the corporate office in Lincolnshire, Illinois, for at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $122,800–$184,200 annual base pay, plus a target annual cash incentive equal to 12% of base pay.

What you will do

• Establish requirements, define scope, and architect software for highly complex systems.
• Lead and participate in all phases of software development, including inspections, testing, and quality improvements.
• Conduct code reviews and develop innovative programs, technologies, and advanced engineering tools.
• Provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines and influence program direction.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, senior management, customers, and other engineering teams.
• Serve as a technical expert and principal customer contact on critical projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
• Professional experience with Java and microservices development using Spring Boot.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL, source control management, and build automation.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, performance optimization, complex problem-solving, technical leadership, and mentorship.
