Strategic Requirements Systems Engineer (Space Systems)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States, in a secure facility. Standard working hours; minimal travel.

Salary: $135,000–$170,000 per year in California.

What you will do

• Develop, refine, maintain, and evaluate system requirements using DOORS and other systems engineering tools.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, prime contractors, support contractors, configuration management, cybersecurity, integration, test, and subject matter expert teams.
• Identify requirements gaps, conflicts, ambiguities, risks, and implementation concerns, and drive technical issue resolution.
• Analyze contractor deliverables, technical proposals, change packages, interfaces, verification scope, cost, schedule, and technical risk.
• Prepare requirements briefings, plans, technical papers, review materials, and documentation for government decision-making.
• Develop and maintain verification cross-reference matrices, verification approaches, success criteria, evidence expectations, and related test documentation.

Requirements

• Eligible for SECRET/TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in satellite systems, spacecraft development, or aerospace engineering, including 5 years on DoD programs.
• Direct experience developing or managing requirements and requirements verification products for complex systems.
• Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems such as payloads, RF communications, power, GNC, thermal, propulsion, and onboard command and data handling.
• Experience with DOORS, Jama, Cameo, schematics, interface diagrams, data communication structures, technical writing, presentations, and Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• SECRET/TS/SCI clearance and a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of experience with space systems, space acquisitions, or space and ground segment development.
• Satellite hardware and software development experience.
• Experience with model-based systems engineering tools.
• PMP or INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, or ASEP certification.
