Senior Supplier Technical Engineer (Forging and Raw Materials)

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week

Salary: $112,704–$169,056 per year

What you will do

• Own technical accountability and quality management for purchased forging and raw material parts used in turbomachinery equipment.
• Identify supplier quality problems, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering.
• Develop and report supplier quality metrics, identify performance trends, and drive time-bound improvement plans.
• Coordinate engineering activities for new product introduction, concurrent product and process development, configuration management, specification approvals, and cost reduction.
• Lead supplier PPAP activities and develop inspection plans with design engineering, materials and processes engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Provide technical guidance on supplier tooling, drawings, qualification activities, Windchill, BAAN, and Q Notes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and experience in supplier quality or engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP software and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
• Fluent business English in written and oral communication is required.
• Knowledge of forging and machining processes relevant to turbomachinery products, including drawing interpretation, tooling, nondestructive testing, functional testing, and metallurgy.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, statistical, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence suppliers.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, project management, supplier selection, and quality management systems.
