Lead Cloud & Data Platform Engineer (Azure/Snowflake)

Location: Remote position associated with Louisville, Kentucky, United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices may be required.

Salary: $129,300–$177,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own the Azure- and Snowflake-based cloud data platform, including provisioning, networking, security, automation, and operational readiness.
• Design scalable, observable, and cost-efficient cloud-native data pipelines and platform components.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, infrastructure, and application deployments using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
• Automate Snowflake, Azure services, networking, and security configurations with Terraform or Bicep.
• Set up orchestration, monitoring, logging, alerting, data quality checks, and operational dashboards using Prefect, ADF, or similar tools.
• Lead modernization to Snowflake and Databricks, develop MuleSoft API integrations, troubleshoot platform issues, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Hands-on Azure experience with Functions, ADF, Storage, Key Vault, Networking, and Azure DevOps.
• Deep Snowflake or Databricks experience, including expert SQL development, performance tuning, RBAC, automation, and cost optimization.
• Strong Python and SQL skills and experience with modern ETL/ELT or orchestration tools.
• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Bicep and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with API-driven integrations and distributed systems; MuleSoft experience is preferred.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives independently, make platform-level decisions, solve complex problems, and work in ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or GCP in addition to Azure.
• Experience with Prefect, MuleSoft, or healthcare data.
