Senior Accounts Payable Specialist (Temporary) (Medical Device)

Location: Alameda, California, United States; onsite four days per week

Salary: $36.00–$48.00 per hour

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end invoice processing and supplier payments for key vendors.
• Maintain accounts payable ledgers, review aging and payment batch reports, and support monthly general ledger close.
• Prepare reconciliations, accrual reports, journal entries, vendor aging reports, payment analyses, 1099 reporting, and state escheatment filings.
• Resolve payment delays by coordinating with vendors, procurement, receiving, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify process improvements that increase accounts payable efficiency and accuracy.
• Train the accounts payable team, help manage workload priorities, and support quarterly and year-end audits.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field with 6+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, graphs, and dashboard creation.
• High comfort level with SAP S/4HANA or a similar ERP system.
• Must be able to commute to the Alameda office and work onsite four days per week.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under minimal supervision and communicate with employees at all levels.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds and remain stationary at a computer for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with Coupa or similar invoice workflow software.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
