Senior Stock Plan Administrator (Equity Compensation)

Location: Remote USA

Salary: $110,000–$194,000 annual base salary plus annual cash bonus

What you will do

• Own daily equity plan operations in Carta, including grants, option exercises, cancellations, repurchases, and cap table management.
• Manage equity reconciliations, reporting, liquidity events, employee communications, and settlement activities.
• Build scalable processes, standard operating procedures, internal controls, audit support, and equity administration tools.
• Manage the 409A valuation process and coordinate equity tax calculations, withholding, reporting, and payroll integration.
• Lead HRIS and payroll integrations and develop automated workflows for tax withholding and liquidity events.
• Guide employees, managers, and non-employee shareholders on grants, vesting, exercises, taxes, payroll impacts, and verification requests.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in equity plan administration, stock plan management, or a related field.
• Hands-on administrator-level experience with Carta.
• Strong knowledge of stock options, including ISOs and NSOs, RSUs, equity compensation tax treatment, and private-company liquidity events.
• Experience with payroll systems integration, tax withholding, reporting, and equity-related controls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional consulting skills.
• Ability to work remotely from the USA.

Nice to have

• Certified Equity Professional designation.
• Experience at a high-growth private company with a broad shareholder base.
• Experience introducing and administering new equity instruments such as RSUs.
• Knowledge of US and international equity compensation, ASC 718, internal controls, advanced Excel or Google Sheets, and financial modeling.
