Senior Software Developer (React)

Location: Hybrid in Calgary, Canada, with office attendance two days per week; occasional Tier 3 after-hours support and collaboration across global time zones.

What you will do

• Design and architect complex software applications, components, and modules for reliable, scalable, maintainable performance.
• Build, test, document, and refactor visually compelling React interfaces for a cloud-based geoscience application.
• Integrate the application with hirify.global’s 3D visualization library to present complex geoscience data interactively.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, lead design and code reviews, and collaborate with product designers, domain experts, and back-end developers.
• Improve processes and products through research and emerging technologies while coordinating releases across multiple teams.
• Define and deliver small projects or sub-projects and provide occasional Tier 3 support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• 7+ years of relevant software development experience, primarily focused on frontend web development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience developing, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing customer-facing web applications in production.
• Practical experience with Three.js or another web-based 3D rendering library.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and autonomous working skills.

Nice to have

• Experience running data science pipelines on the web.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI or similar API frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience migrating monolithic enterprise frontend applications to a micro-frontend architecture.
