Product Owner I (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage the development team's backlog, including stories, bugs, tasks, technical debt, and feature decomposition work.
• Decompose product features into user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria, business rules, UX copy, validations, and error states.
• Partner with Product Managers, Product Designers, Engineering Leads, QA, and Release Management to align scope, sequencing, estimates, dependencies, and release timelines.
• Enforce the Definition of Ready and provide final functional acceptance for individual stories.
• Manage feature flag documentation and cleanup, and support observability requirements for high-risk features.
• Participate in refinement, monthly planning, release verification, support triage, and backlog prioritization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant training and experience.
• Relevant background in business, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• Typically at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in business analysis, product ownership, or a similar role in a software product organization.
• Direct experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.

Nice to have

• Hands-on backlog management in an Agile environment such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience in payments, POS, or fintech product domains.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience translating UX or Product Design mockups into functional requirements.
• CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent Product Owner certification.
