Training Coordinator (Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center)

What you will do

• Coordinate and deliver continuing education, in-service training, and professional development for juvenile justice, criminal justice, social service, parent, youth, and other stakeholder groups.
• Facilitate training as a lead instructor and serve as a subject matter specialist in assigned areas.
• Assist with designing, reviewing, updating, and refining curricula, including web-based and other instructional formats.
• Coordinate schedules, venues, host agencies, instructors, travel, training records, and delivery logistics across in-person, virtual, asynchronous, synchronous, and hybrid formats.
• Develop and refine project budgets, coordinate special events, recruit adjunct instructors and contractors, and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with researchers, university offices, public agencies, and external organizations on evidence-based curricula, certifications, evaluation activities, and training partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
• At least two years of related experience.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Ability to multitask, work cooperatively, and assist in designing and updating course curricula.
• Employment is based in Prairie View, Texas.
• Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation and credential verification.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in juvenile justice, criminal justice, psychology, social work, public administration, education, or a related field.
• Three to five years of experience in juvenile justice, youth development, training coordination or delivery, or a related field.
• Experience with adult learning, instructional design, web-based learning, training logistics, program evaluation, applied research, grant management, or grant-funded programs.
• Familiarity with Texas juvenile justice systems, state agencies, juvenile probation departments, law enforcement, schools, youth-serving organizations, and evidence-based delinquency-prevention practices.
