Instructional Assistant Professor of Special Education

What you will do

• Teach 15 semester credit hours per semester, equivalent to five courses.
• Teach undergraduate courses in face-to-face and online formats and graduate courses online.
• Mentor students and support their academic development.
• Serve on departmental, college, university, and professional committees.
• Contribute to programs preparing culturally competent education professionals.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Special Education or a related field; ABD candidates may be considered if the doctorate is earned before appointment.
• Experience working in Special Education in a public school setting is strongly encouraged.
• Ability to teach subjects that complement or strengthen the university's programs.
• Regular face-to-face attendance on campus is required.

Nice to have

• State of Texas Special Education Teacher Certification.
• State of Texas Educational Diagnostician Certification.
