Assistant or Associate Professor of Professional Counseling

Location: Victoria Campus, Victoria, Texas; regular on-campus presence required

What you will do

• Teach master's-level courses in the CACREP core and in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional School Counseling concentrations in traditional and online formats.
• Provide clinical supervision for practicum and internship experiences, including appropriate clinical site visits.
• Advise and mentor graduate students throughout their academic and professional preparation.
• Support student recruitment, admissions, orientation, retention, curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with schools, school districts, counseling agencies, healthcare organizations, and community partners.
• Maintain professional involvement, a scholarly agenda, student research mentorship, and service to the College and University.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a closely related field, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program.
• Experience in university teaching and clinical supervision of counselors-in-training.
• Knowledge of CACREP standards, professional counseling practice, and counselor preparation in clinical mental health and/or school counseling.
• Eligibility for appropriate professional licensure or certification in the State of Texas.
• Active involvement in appropriate professional counseling organizations.
• For appointment at the Associate Professor rank, a record of excellence in university teaching and scholarly research and publication commensurate with experience and university expectations is required.

Nice to have

• Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program.
• Current or previous professional counseling licensure and/or Certified School Counselor credentials.
• Experience teaching CACREP-aligned graduate coursework and supervising practicum and internship students.
• Experience with program assessment, accreditation processes, online learning, and technology-supported instruction.
• Evidence of scholarly activity and strong collaborative and leadership skills.
