Maintenance Diesel Technician B (Diesel)

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment.
• Maintain chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical controls, air and hydraulic brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrains, and steering systems.
• Diagnose multi-system malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools.
• Perform line maintenance welding, fabrication, and basic tire work.
• Provide road service and return equipment to safe and efficient operation.
• Complete company training and other related maintenance duties.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
• Experience with or knowledge of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, including Class 1–5 and Class 7–8 vehicles, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver's license required.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver's license are advantageous but not required.
