What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light- and medium-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair gas and diesel vehicles, forklifts, trailers, powered equipment, and basic electrical systems.
• Repair hydraulic brake systems and components, and assist with air brake and hydraulic system repairs.
• Assist with Federal DOT inspections and dielectric test inspections.
• Support higher-classification technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Complete required training and travel outside the company service area for training and work, with 5–15% travel.

Requirements

• Associate degree or certificate in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics, or at least one year of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must successfully obtain and maintain a Class A CDL within six months of hire.
• Ability to work onsite in a garage and field environment with noise, fumes, dust, heights, and extended periods of standing and walking on concrete.
• Ability to lift or push at least 100 pounds several times per shift and carry at least 50 pounds for 25 feet.
• Ability to perform repeated bending and twisting; a 275-pound weight restriction applies throughout the technician progression.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based immigration sponsorship.
