EHS Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: New Century, Kansas, USA; plant-based position requiring on-site presence. The role is based in the Kansas City, Kansas area. Work from home is at the manager’s discretion, and travel is limited.

What you will do

• Lead site environmental, health, and safety work processes, initiatives, management systems, and performance improvement plans.
• Develop environmental, regulatory, process safety, and emergency services strategies aligned with site and business objectives.
• Implement process safety improvements related to work practices and employee behaviors.
• Coordinate second- and third-party EHS audits and lead severe incident investigations.
• Lead the site EHS team and coach site leaders, EHS professionals, and employees on safety, health, and environmental matters.
• Collaborate with Operations, Technology/R&D, Maintenance, Training, corporate functions, and the Protein Solutions Network.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or scientific field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of operations, maintenance, or R&D leadership experience involving safety, occupational health, and environmental programs.
• Working knowledge of SHE and process safety management systems.
• Technical expertise in OSHA regulations and safe work practices, including confined space, line break, lockout/tagout, and respiratory protection.
• Ability to collect and analyze data, identify solutions, assess risks, and make sound decisions.
• Ability to work on-site at the manufacturing facility in New Century, Kansas.
