Director, Applied AI

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States; hybrid work with up to one day per week from home

Salary: $159,000–$272,000 base salary for Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers; other ranges apply to Washington, D.C., New York, and California.

What you will do

• Lead two permanent multidisciplinary Implementation Pods focused on rapidly redesigning business workflows with approved AI tools.
• Establish a repeatable delivery model with clear accountability, strong business partnership, and measurable outcomes.
• Select suitable engagements and ensure committed business ownership, dedicated participant capacity, and adoption readiness.
• Drive execution from kickoff through launch, resolve blockers, and coordinate with Technology, Data, Risk, and business stakeholders.
• Capture reusable delivery, AI, process, and adoption patterns and identify opportunities for scalable AI capabilities.
• Coach and develop pod members while assessing adoption and realized business impact after launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in business transformation, AI or digital implementation, operations, product delivery, management consulting, or a related field.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through fast-paced, measurable transformation and redesigning workflows across people, process, data, and technology.
• Strong understanding of generative AI and AI-enabled ways of working, with sound judgment in ambiguous environments.
• Ability to build credibility with senior leaders and frontline business teams; 5+ years of people leadership experience is preferred.
• Hybrid attendance is required, with up to one day per week from home.

Nice to have

• Experience in asset management, financial services, or another regulated environment.
• Experience leading agile, sprint-based, implementation, consulting, or transformation teams.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI governance, data privacy, and technology considerations.
• Evidence of delivering measurable productivity, capacity, quality, cost, or commercial improvements.
