TL;DR
Licensed Electrical Engineer (Water & Wastewater): Designing and delivering electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations with an accent on power, lighting, generators, controls, and construction-phase support. Focus on analyzing existing systems, preparing compliant calculations and drawings, witnessing testing and startup, and coaching junior engineers.

Location: Tampa or Orlando, Florida, United States. Hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work; travel and on-site project activities are required.

What you will do

  • Design complete electrical systems, including power, lighting, generators, and controls, for water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.
  • Analyze existing electrical systems and develop cost-effective rehabilitation and expansion solutions.
  • Support projects from pre-proposal and design through construction delivery.
  • Prepare and review electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Assess equipment, witness electrical testing and startup, and perform quality-control reviews for code and standards compliance.
  • Coordinate schedules, budgets, technical requirements, multidisciplinary teams, clients, and subcontractors while providing guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license in Florida.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience and experience supporting projects through all design phases.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, and NFPA 820.
  • Knowledge of short-circuit analysis, motor-starting analysis, and load-flow studies.
  • Ability to travel as required and work with clients and subcontractors.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing electrical power, lighting, and controls systems for water and wastewater facilities.
  • Transferable experience in power generation, pulp and paper, chemical, midstream, or oil and gas refinery industries.
  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineer licensure in additional U.S. states.
  • Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, AutoCAD, or Revit.
