Senior Electrical Engineer (Oil and Gas)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid work. Domestic and occasional international travel to jobsites and supplier factories is required.

What you will do

• Study, design, specify, and support electrical systems, including power system performance and control, cabling, wiring, lighting, and motor control centers.
• Develop and review electrical designs, calculations, specifications, studies, reports, and material testing activities.
• Work on communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding, lightning protection, and heat tracing.
• Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
• Coordinate complex engineering requirements and resolve design, materials, and coordination challenges.
• Lead an electrical functional area or project segment by planning, budgeting, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• At least 5 years of related professional experience, preferably in oil and gas, refining, or petrochemical industries.
• Experience with electrical equipment purchasing, load lists or load summaries, LV one-lines, and MCC schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally to jobsites and supplier factories.

Nice to have

• Electrical power system studies experience with ETAP and SKM Power Tools.
• AutoCAD experience.
• SmartPlant Electrical, now Octave Facets Electrical, experience.
• PE or P.Eng. registration.
