TL;DR
Electrical Engineer - Nuclear (Electrical Engineering/Nuclear Power): Developing and reviewing electrical designs, specifications, procurement documents, and power system studies for a nuclear generating station with an accent on medium- and low-voltage distribution, safety compliance, and project execution. Focus on coordinating multidisciplinary design, leading engineering teams, performing short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analyses, and supporting PE-stamped documentation.

Location: Onsite at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Tonopah, Arizona, United States

Salary: $114,960–$172,440 per year

What you will do

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for electrical engineering components on assigned nuclear power projects.
  • Develop design criteria, specifications, procurement documents, scopes, budgets, schedules, and staffing plans.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts and work with client personnel to support project execution.
  • Review drawings and technical documentation for accuracy, code compliance, constructability, and quality.
  • Lead and supervise project teams and perform discipline-specific administrative and supervisory activities.
  • Perform power system studies, including short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash assessments, using SKM and ETAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in relevant electrical engineering roles.
  • Eligibility for acceptance by the State Board of Engineers for Professional Engineer licensure is mandatory; an active PE license is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, heat tracing, and electrical area classification.
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NEMA, and NFPA standards.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Recap, SKM, and ETAP.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Active Professional Engineer license.
