Fleet Maintenance Manager (Diesel Fleet)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The role oversees multiple maintenance shops and requires travel.

What you will do

• Oversee up to five or more maintenance shops and provide direction to technicians, supervisors, and maintenance managers.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, scheduling, shop huddles, fleet walk-arounds, and quality-control activities.
• Monitor shop performance, productivity, overtime, maintenance costs, inventory, outsourcing, budgets, and operational improvements.
• Lead hiring, training, performance evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and employee engagement across multiple teams.
• Diagnose and oversee advanced repairs involving engines, emissions, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, welding, and vehicle body controls.
• Maintain maintenance records and enter preventive and corrective work information into Dossier Maintenance Software while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least three years of leadership experience.
• At least five years of experience as a Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor for a large vehicle fleet or multiple sites.
• Advanced knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle and equipment systems, including diesel engines, emissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, HVAC, and welding.
• Knowledge of OSHA HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, and Fire Protection regulations, as well as federal and state compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, financial planning, customer service, and employee leadership skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, root-cause problem solving, fleet management certifications or equivalent systems, and maintenance software is required.
