Location: Plainfield, Indiana, United States; hybrid work from remote and onsite locations after onboarding, with residence within a reasonable commute to the designated hirify.global facility required.

What you will do

  • Manage complex engineering studies, projects, schedules, interfaces, and technical deliverables for energy management systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex EMS problems and assess their system-wide operational impact.
  • Maintain and enhance advanced EMS applications, including State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, and Network applications.
  • Coordinate with IT and EMS teams on cybersecurity, NERC, and O&P compliance.
  • Develop engineering standards, technical procedures, reports, calculations, and recommendations for future EMS technologies.
  • Participate in a 24x7 operational callout rotation and provide technical leadership on complex issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a Professional Engineer license; a master’s degree in engineering may substitute for the bachelor’s degree.
  • At least six years of related engineering experience, or five years with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Ability to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, project management, technical analysis, and written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to coordinate with teammates, business units, support groups, contractors, vendors, and clients.

Nice to have

  • Experience with General Electric Grid EMS/DMS systems and electric transmission systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of NERC CIP cybersecurity and transmission reliability standards.
  • Experience with real-time computer systems and programming or scripting languages such as C++, FORTRAN, and Perl.
  • Professional Engineer registration and utility industry experience.
