Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Location: Greenfield, Indiana, USA; onsite night shift

Salary: $29.87–$41.81 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour night-shift differential

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical drive systems, gear reducers, bearings, shaft alignments, and process and utility equipment.
• Establish mechanical inspection routes and execute preventive maintenance schedules to support plant uptime.
• Lead root-cause problem solving for complex mechanical issues and improve equipment reliability and operational safety.
• Mentor and train shift maintenance technicians.
• Create and update technical documentation, SOPs, Single Page Lessons, and red-line schematic changes.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 8+ years of verifiable mechanical machine repair experience, or an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or Journeyman Mechanical certification with 4+ years of experience.
• Strong expertise in mechanical drivetrains, bearing preloads, gear sets, and drive alignment.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC drives.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work the night shift, Sunday through Friday, generally 10:00 PM–6:00 AM.
• Final candidates must complete a post-offer background check and drug screening.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO standards, or maintenance management software.
