TL;DR

Manufacturing Maintenance Technician (Electro-mechanical/Robotics): Maintaining and optimizing automated robotic lines for high-voltage electric propulsion systems with an accent on equipment uptime and preventative maintenance. Focus on troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems, PLC diagnostics, and ensuring reliability of precision adhesive and laser weld systems.

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Salary: $42.00 - $52.00 per hour

Aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot and maintain complex automation, robotics, and electro-mechanical systems, specifically adhesive dispensing and laser weld systems.
  • Execute and improve preventative maintenance (PM) plans to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Partner with internal engineering and external integrators for the installation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new tooling.
  • Diagnose root causes of failures using PLCs and industrial control systems.
  • Procure and maintain a robust spare parts inventory to minimize mean time to repair (MTTR).
  • Design and build shop fixtures and electrical panels to improve safety, quality, or cycle times.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance or Automation Technician in high-volume manufacturing (Automotive EV or aerospace preferred).
  • Associate’s Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Deep proficiency in troubleshooting pneumatic systems, hydraulic power, and precision mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience programming industrial robots (Fanuc preferred) and diagnosing faults using PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred).
  • Strong ability to read electrical/pneumatic schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-voltage battery module/pack assembly or powertrain production.
  • Familiarity with laser welding, resistance spot welding, or high-voltage battery testing equipment.
  • Active NFPA 70E certification.
  • Basic machine shop experience (milling, turning, grinding).
