Senior Backend Engineer

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Annual OTE: $170,000–$260,000 USD

What you will do

• Design scalable control planes and data primitives for the platform's products.
• Build distributed systems capable of handling high traffic from hundreds of thousands of globally deployed devices.
• Develop new services within a microservices architecture.
• Scale authentication, users, roles, and audit capabilities for large organizations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in at least one of Python or Go.
• Experience with relational databases, key-value storage, distributed queueing, caching, cloud providers, React, gRPC, and API specifications.
• Experience building and scaling access systems for millions of users.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, California.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
