Financial Consultant

Location: Remote, associated with the MI-Admin Office Building (AOB) in the United States. The position follows Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm hours and may require attendance at important departmental meetings or team-building events depending on the role.

Salary: $76,772–$110,000 annually, with annual bonus potential based on performance.

What you will do

• Provide expert financial advice, guidance, and consulting support for business decisions and objectives.
• Research, evaluate, and interpret complex financial and statistical data using advanced financial techniques and tools.
• Lead and monitor the financial components of large, complex projects and department initiatives.
• Serve as the primary liaison with business project teams and partners to support successful project delivery.
• Develop, design, test, and document financial systems, reporting tools, upgrades, forecasts, budgets, and simulations.
• Assess financial implications of reorganizations, benchmarking, reporting changes, mergers, acquisitions, profitability, and pricing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience equivalent to a senior position in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience developing complex financial models with macros and advanced spreadsheet applications, including Excel.
• Experience analyzing technical issues and complex financial data, identifying problems, and developing sound conclusions.
• Experience designing and implementing medium- to large-scale projects, automated forecasts, budgets, business plans, proposals, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Strong organizational, planning, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex information to senior executives.

Nice to have

• Understanding of loss accounting for property and casualty insurance.
• Experience reconciling claim payments or implementing third-party vendor payment systems.
• Experience documenting requirements, mapping process workflows, or participating in UAT.
• Experience with Cadency, TRecs, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python.
