Temporary Contract Trademark Counsel (Intellectual Property)

Location: Remote, United States; full-time remote contract role working in Pacific Standard Time (PST). Assignment runs from mid-November 2026 to early May 2027.

Pay: $100–$125 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Roll Law Group is the captive law firm supporting The Wonderful Company and its subsidiaries, including major consumer brands across food, beverage, wine, and services.

What you will do

• Protect and enforce the domestic and international trademark portfolio.
• Perform trademark clearance searches, analyze results, and provide risk assessments.
• Advise on and draft responses to USPTO Office Actions while coordinating with trademark paralegals.
• Handle priority investigations, cease-and-desist letters, negotiations, settlement agreements, and enforcement matters.
• Draft initiating TTAB documents and oversee foreign counsel in oppositions, cancellations, litigation, and related proceedings.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on trademark, copyright, right of publicity, licensing, assignment, consent, and co-branding agreements.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of solid experience in domestic trademark prosecution and enforcement.
• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar association.
• Experience analyzing trademark priority and rights, conducting clearance searches, evaluating infringement, and preparing risk-benefit analyses.
• Experience drafting trademark agreements, including assignments and licenses, and managing high volumes of deadlines with paralegals.
• Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with USPTO and/or Saegis trademark searching tools.

Nice to have

• International trademark experience.
• In-house trademark experience.
• Experience with copyright, patent, trade secret, or major consumer product trademark matters.
