What you will do

  • Support attorneys and clients on US, PCT, and international patent prosecution matters.
  • Monitor docket deadlines, review daily reports, and coordinate follow-up with attorneys, clients, management, and the IP docket department.
  • Prepare and file patent applications, pre-grant filings, IDS submissions, assignments, and name changes under attorney supervision.
  • Review and report USPTO and foreign correspondence and respond to client instructions and inquiries.
  • Maintain electronic files, worksheets, document-management records, and accurate billable and non-billable time entries.
  • Manage daily workflow, communicate priorities, collaborate across practice groups, and provide backup or training support to other paralegals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent specialized training, education, and experience.
  • Minimum eight years of progressive patent prosecution experience.
  • Working knowledge of the CFR and MPEP, with proficiency in US, PCT, and international patent law.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams in a hybrid and in-office setting in Atlanta.
  • Strong organization, proofreading, analytical, communication, client-service, and deadline-management skills.
  • Proficiency with USPTO and other government electronic filing systems and Microsoft Office products.
