Legal Counsel

Location: Virtual U.S. position; preferred work location/time zone is Eastern (EST/ET) or Central (CST/CT).

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage customer, vendor, consulting, nondisclosure, and other commercial agreements.
• Advise sales, operations, procurement, finance, HR, information security, and leadership teams on legal, commercial, operational, corporate, and compliance matters.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
• Support litigation, claims, disputes, investigations, outside counsel management, and corporate governance activities.
• Assist with mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic initiatives.
• Develop policies, contract templates, legal procedures, compliance programs, and legal training.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 5+ years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate environment, focused on commercial transactions and corporate law.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property, data protection, and privacy laws.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, drafting, analytical, and risk-management skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English required. Experience with Microsoft Office is also required.
