Social Worker - Middle School

Location: Bronx, New York, United States; based in NYC with travel to KIPP schools required

Salary: $70,829–$136,704 per year

What you will do

• Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing support to students and families.
• Set goals with students, track progress, and support pathways toward high school graduation, college matriculation, and self-sufficiency.
• Manage referrals for social services, external resources, partnerships, and special education services.
• Support students with IEPs, conduct assessments, maintain records, and complete required compliance documentation.
• Coordinate family engagement activities, home visits, workshops, and education initiatives.
• Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, Student Response Teams, families, and external agencies on student interventions and well-being.

Requirements

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Extensive knowledge of adolescent development and experience working with teenagers and young adults.
• Experience with therapeutic modalities for children and families, including trauma assessment and treatment.
• Experience working in a school environment or with comparable youth populations.
• Strong interpersonal, ethical, professional, and confidentiality skills.
• Visa sponsorship and work authorization are not provided.

Nice to have

• Oral and written fluency in Spanish.
