ICM Caseworker

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland, USA; hybrid work combining office, remote, and field time within the service delivery area.

Salary: $29.10 per hour

What you will do

• Determine client eligibility, conduct intake assessments, and explain program expectations, outcomes, and confidentiality.
• Develop individualized SMART self-sufficiency plans and review client progress every six months.
• Help vulnerable refugees, asylees, and other eligible clients navigate healthcare, benefits, transportation, and social service systems.
• Respond to client crises, coordinate financial assistance, and maintain relationships with community, state, and local service providers.
• Document services and financial assistance accurately in client case files and the Efforts to Outcomes database.
• Attend trainings and meetings and potentially train or lead volunteers and interns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, or a related field preferred.
• At least 1–2 years of case management experience with similar populations or client needs.
• Fluent spoken and written English required.
• Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, networking, problem-solving, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet research, digital tools, and accurate data entry.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal insured vehicle.

Nice to have

• Master of Social Work or an equivalent degree.
• Experience with Preferred Communities or Intensive Case Management programs.
• Experience navigating Medicaid, SNAP, and TCA benefit systems.
• Proficiency in Arabic, French, Spanish, or Dari.
