is hiring for an industrial engineering and mining solutions client that delivers specialized equipment, infrastructure, and technical engineering services for the Australian resources sector.
What you will do
- Lead mechanical design, 3D modeling, and detailing of heavy machinery, materials handling systems, and structural components in SolidWorks.
- Manage engineering projects from initial scoping and conceptual design through fabrication, site installation, and commissioning.
- Perform mechanical calculations, structural analysis, and design verification against operational requirements and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with Australian clients, fabricators, and field engineers on timelines, deliverables, and technical variations.
- Prepare detail drawings, general arrangements, bills of materials, and maintenance manuals.
- Conduct Design Risk Assessments, including Safety in Design and HAZOP activities, and verify fabrication quality and safety compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 5 years of mechanical engineering design experience, preferably in heavy industry, mining, or machinery manufacturing.
- Experience supporting Australian clients or working with Australian engineering standards and business practices.
- Expert-level SolidWorks proficiency for complex 3D assembly modeling and detailed drafting.
- Experience managing engineering projects from concept through execution with minimal oversight.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Australian Standards such as AS 1100, AS 4024, and AS 3990.
- Experience with FEA software, including SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
- Field experience commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting mining equipment.
- Client-facing communication and stakeholder management experience.
