Test Engineering Intern - Avionics Summer 2027

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.

What you will do

• Support the Space Systems team in developing software that tests hardware going into space.
• Work within the avionics test group’s software test automation team.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to debug design and manufacturing issues.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical technical challenges.
• Work with mentors and supervisors, provide progress updates, and develop technical and professional skills.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering.
• Have at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Have at least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Be able to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.
• For work in U.S. offices, meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, software design, data wrangling, or software deployment.
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment and instrumentation.
