Application Software Engineer II – Avionics Hardware Component Test

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Base pay for Washington applicants: $134,961–$188,945.40 per year; other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Capture requirements, negotiate scope, and deliver software milestones with internal customers.
• Design and implement production-quality Linux instrument drivers for avionics test equipment.
• Work with avionics hardware engineers to define operating envelopes and validate driver behavior against hardware specifications.
• Architect and extend automated hardware-in-the-loop test execution frameworks.
• Implement pass/fail logic, limit management, and structured reporting for acceptance and qualification test campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional software coding and engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python or C++ and professional software development on Linux.
• Experience with socket programming, UDP/TCP, command transport, packet capture and parsing, network reliability, and configuration.
• Hands-on experience writing hardware interface software and instrument drivers.
• Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD.
• Must meet U.S. export-control employment eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with automated test equipment and avionics test environments.
• Knowledge of acceptance and qualification testing in aerospace hardware development.
• Experience with Processor-in-Loop design and deployment for testing.
